Fertility for Lesbian Couples
We’re On It.
Your conception journey will require many of the same procedures as it does for heterosexual couples. It comes with a unique set of decisions, extra steps, and legal and financial considerations.
Pinnacle Fertility is a fully-inclusive fertility clinic for everyone, including LGBTQIA+ couples. At Pinnacle, we understand that every person's fertility requirements are different, which is why our team makes them a part of your care plan, built into our internal processes, and streamlined by your care advocate.
We only partner with LGBTQIA+ welcoming sperm donor banks and other third-party services.
We coordinate with third-party services so there’s less on your to-do list.
Our staff is trained in protocols for processes common in same-sex fertility care, like in vitro fertilization (IVF) using donor sperm and reciprocal IVF.
Fertility options for Lesbian Couples:
Sperm Donation
Fertility treatment options for lesbian couples may include IVF with sperm donation. Work with our sperm bank partner to select the donor. After your selection, our team will help you to handle the sample. Your care advocate will guide you through every aspect of this process.
IVF or Reciprocal IVF with Donor Sperm
Tailored and inclusive fertility options, including traditional IVF, IVF with ICSI, and Reciprocal IVF, all of which can be performed using donor sperm. These diverse options provide lesbian couples with a range of choices to suit their unique paths to parenthood.
IUI with Donor Sperm
IUI with donor sperm offers a simple and effective fertility solution, where carefully selected donor sperm is inseminated directly into the uterus, increasing the chances of conception for lesbian couples embarking on their journey to parenthood.
Getting Started
Whether it’s IUI or IVF for lesbian couples, every step of your fertility treatment journey should be clear and smooth—including the first step. Here’s how getting started works at Pinnacle Fertility.
Talk to a care Navigator and fertility doctor
Please share information about you and your partner using our contact form. One of our dedicated Navigators will get in touch to discuss your aspirations and history, and they will continue to be your primary contact throughout this journey. Following this, our fertility specialist will meet with you to go over your objectives and background in detail and will recommend necessary tests, such as bloodwork and ultrasounds, to tailor a fertility plan suited to your needs.
Review your care plan, costs and what my insurance may cover
Once your test results come back, your physician will propose a care plan, answer questions, and adjust if needed. A Financial Counselor will detail your treatment cost, a minimum and maximum for medication (you’ll pay the pharmacy directly), and financing options.
Begin treatment
We'll schedule each step of the process and coordinate with your pharmacy.

Typically lesbian couples need to consider the cost of donor sperm in addition to the cost of their IVF cycle.
IVF for same-sex female couples will follow the same procedures as regular IVF, but will require a sperm donor and embryo transfer. Pinnacle partners with LGBTQIA+-friendly sperm donor banks and other third-party services. Our staff has received training on protocols for common processes in same-sex fertility treatment.
