Through a three to six month full-time program including lectures, one-on-one hands-on training, and lab immersion and practice, Embryology training program students graduate with complete key competencies in the areas of lab quality control procedures, semen analysis, semen freezing, and processing for IUI/IVF/ICSI, oocyte retrieval, embryo culture, and grading, oocyte, and embryo freezing and thawing and embryo transfer. Candidates can also attend Micro-Manipulation workshops focused on developing further specialized skills including Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and Embryo Biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT).

Dr. John zhang
John Zhang, Ph.D, is IVF Lab Director at Institute for Human Reproduction, a Pinnacle-affiliated fertility center in Chicago, IL. Before joining IHR, Dr. Zhang was clinical professor of obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of Master of Science in Clinical Embryology (now Master of Science in Human Reproduction and Embryology), and Director of IVF Lab at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Zhang brings to Pinnacle Embryology training program with over 25 years of experience in IVF laboratory practice. In addition to leading highly successful IVF Labs, Dr Zhang has personally trained many embryologists who are leading very successful careers in Chicago and beyond.
